Sen. Shaheen introduces three bills related to health insurance
WASHINGTON, D.C. -
U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., is introducing three bills designed to help people who get their health insurance through the Affordable Care Act.
One bill would reduce deductibles and increase cost-sharing assistance, another would help control costs for patients who need out-of-network care and the third would expand who qualifies for premium tax credits.
"What we're trying to do is expand help for people who need help with the cost of coverage, and it would be done on a sliding scale, based on ability to pay," Shaheen said. "It would not only increase the amount of help that people get, but it would also expand those people who are eligible for that help."
Shaheen also criticized the Trump administration's attempts to roll back the ACA.
