SHAHEEN NOMINATES LOCAL STUDENTS FOR US ACADEMIES

MANCHESTER — U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) has nominated 41 New Hampshire students to the United States Service Academies. The nomination from Senator Shaheen recommends students for acceptance into the U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and West Point.

"Once again, New Hampshire has produced an exceptionally talented group of young men and women who are eager to serve their country," said Shaheen. "I applaud the impressive work these students are doing in their communities and their willingness to serve in military leadership. Our nation's service academies are very demanding, but I'm confident they are up to the challenge."

Local students nominated include Gwenyth Fifield of Moultonborough for the U.S. Military Academy; Hunter Miller of Wolfeboro for the U.S. Air Force Academy and Nicholas Shastany of Laconia for the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
