Child Care Tax Credit Legislation Will Help Families Deal With Rising Costs, Afford Child Care

Citing the economic consequences of the rising child care costs, today U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) outlined a plan to make child care more affordable by updating the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit (CDCTC). In remarks on the Senate floor, Shaheen discussed legislation she introduced yesterday, the Helping Working Families Afford Child Care Act, that would increase the amount of eligible child care expenses used to calculate the CDCTC and expand the credit to a countless number of families.
