As the Senate Prepares to Vote on Shaheen-Portman Legislation, Shaheen Touts the Benefits of These Energy Efficiency Provisions on the Senate Floor
**Shaheen’s Energy Savings and Industrial Competitiveness Act, which she introduced with Senator Portman, is expected to pass the Senate soon as part of a larger energy bill**

(Washington, DC) – Today, as the Senate prepares to vote on her bipartisan energy efficiency legislation, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) went to the Senate floor to discuss the economic and environmental benefits of these energy efficiency provisions for the country. Senator Shaheen authored this legislation with Senator Rob Portman (R-OH). It was made a part of the Energy Policy Modernization Act, which the Senate is expected to pass soon. This bill also contains Senator Shaheen’s Smart Manufacturing Leadership Act, the Heat Efficiency through Applied Technology (HEAT) Act and key provisions from her Clean Distributed Energy Grid Integration Act.
