U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) will visit Bartlett Farm Dairy in Concord at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, February 21st to discuss protections for New Hampshire’s small dairy farmers, championed by Shaheen, that were included in the 2014 bipartisan Farm Bill. Shaheen fought to include safeguards for small dairy farmers who have struggled with high feed costs and volatility in milk prices.
Later, Shaheen will deliver remarks at the formal swearing in of Landya McCafferty to be federal district court judge for the District of New Hampshire in Concord at 2:00 p.m. Shaheen recommended McCafferty’s nomination to President Obama and in her remarks will highlight McCafferty’s experience and qualifications for the judgeship. McCafferty will be the first woman to serve on the federal bench in New Hampshire.
