FRIDAY IN HOOKSETT: SHAHEEN TO AWARD SERVICE MEDALS TO FAMILY OF WORLD WAR I VETERAN
Earlier, in Portsmouth Shaheen to visit Long Term Care Partners to discuss efforts to hire veterans, veteran training partnership
U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) will present long-overdue service medals earned by World War I veteran Frank A. Silva to his son, Commander Frank Silva, and daughter, Kathleen Talley, at the American Legion, Post 37 in Hooksett at 11:45 a.m. Friday. Shaheen will be joined by family of Mr. Silva as well as state military and veteran services officials. Senator Shaheen’s office helped obtain the service medals - including the Purple Heart - on behalf of the Silva family.
Earlier, Shaheen will visit Long Term Care Partners in Portsmouth, at 10:00 a.m. to discuss their efforts to hire veterans as well as their partnership with Great Bay Community College to help train veterans for employment in their facility. Shaheen will meet with company leadership and discuss her legislation, the Veterans Hiring Act, to promote the hiring of veterans.
