Shaheen will also tour the program’s facilities with Lakes Region Community College President Scott Kalicki and speak to a building operator certification class on how her bill will help create jobs, reduce pollution, and save taxpayers billions of dollars.
Earlier, Shaheen will highlight the importance of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education fields at a FIRST Robotics Regional Competition at 10:15 a.m. at Nashua High School South. Shaheen has been a leader in promoting STEM education and has been a strong supporter of the FIRST Robotics program which encourages (STEM) education investments.

Along with company President Glenn Lawton, Shaheen will tour Granite State Manufacturing and highlight how they’ve helped place veterans in good paying jobs at their facility in Manchester.

The visit follows a meeting with students at the University of New Hampshire earlier this week during which Shaheen discussed her proposals to help students and families manage student loans.
In the evening, Shaheen will attend the Androscoggin Valley Chamber of Commerce 2014 Annual Awards Dinner at 7:00 p.m. in Gorham. Shaheen will give remarks addressing job creation in northern New Hampshire and present the Lifetime Achievement award and the BoomPier award for volunteerism.
