ICYMI: Shaheen Launches Federal Energy Resource Guide on Tax Incentives & Programs to Help Granite Staters Keep Heating Bills Down this Winter

Shaheen’s resource guide outlines federal opportunities made available through the historic Inflation Reduction Act, which Democrats ushered through Congress and was signed into law in August.

(Washington, DC) – On Friday, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) launched a resource guide outlining specific residential energy credits, tax incentives and programs available to Granite Staters thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, which was ushered through Congress by Democrats and signed into law by the President in August.

“As the coldest winter months approach, it’s critical that Granite Staters understand the federal programs and tax incentives available to help keep heating bills down,” said Shaheen. “Thanks to Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act, American households can expect to see up to $1,000 per year in savings on their energy bills by taking advantage of energy efficiency incentives that I worked to include in the historic climate bill. This guide walks New Hampshire residents through the opportunities available now and next year, provides contact information for local assistance and includes important resources that make participating as easy as possible. Energy efficiency is the fastest, cheapest way to address our energy needs and is a win-win for our planet and the economy. I encourage residents to review the guide to learn how they can reduce their utility bills and make their home more energy efficient.”

The full guide is available here.

Senator Shaheen is a leading policymaker on energy efficiency priorities. From her landmark bipartisan legislation with Senator Portman (R-OH) to her leadership as a negotiator of the bipartisan infrastructure law and her consistent advocacy to include robust funding for important federal programs in annual government funding legislation, Senator Shaheen has secured significant investments in the energy efficiency sector over the years. She recently authored an op-ed for the Union Leader, reminding Granite Staters of the resources and opportunities available to help reduce energy costs at home by making important energy efficiency modifications. It can be read in full here.  Last week, Shaheen led a roundtable discussion with New Hampshire fuel suppliers, program managers and stakeholders to discuss resources available to help Granite Staters with home heating costs.
