ICYMI: Shaheen Visits Manchester, Berlin, Colebrook & Portsmouth to Discuss Infrastructure, COVID & More
(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) held meetings and events across New Hampshire this week to discuss issues facing Granite State working families. She kicked off the week with a press conference in Manchester with the congressional delegation to highlight once-in-a-generation investments coming to New Hampshire from the bipartisan infrastructure deal she helped negotiate.
On Wednesday, she toured American Performance Polymers in Colebrook and received a briefing to hear more about how the North Country manufacturer is boosting its production of critical PPE like gloves, fueled by funding through a new contract from the Department of Defense that Shaheen helped obtain. She also held a press event in Berlin to discuss with Coos County public health officials and education representatives how they’re responding to a recent spike in COVID-19 cases, as well as the ramifications of the Executive Council’s delayed decision to accept over $22 million in funding for vaccine administration that Shaheen helped secure.
And yesterday, the Senator delivered remarks at the Portsmouth Veterans Day Ceremony yesterday. She joined Portsmouth community leaders in Goodwin Park to recognize the service and sacrifice of veterans in New Hampshire and across the nation.
