NH Delegation Applauds Administration’s Approval of Disaster Declaration for Grafton County
*Declaration Will Assist in Obtaining Resources and Assistance Needed to Recover from July Storm Damage*
(Washington, DC) – Today, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) applauded the decision by the Trump administration to grant a Major Disaster Declaration for the state of New Hampshire following a severe storm on July 11th, which led to flash flooding and significant damage to state and local infrastructure in Grafton County. In the wake of the July storm, the New Hampshire delegation wrote a letter of support for a Major Disaster Declaration for the state of New Hampshire. The cost associated with the storm damage is approximately $2.9 million statewide. The disaster declaration will provide assistance to Grafton County.
“Grafton County suffered from significant damage as a result of the July storm, and this Major Disaster Declaration will go a long way to helping the County rebuild important infrastructure,” said the New Hampshire delegation. “We welcome the Trump administration’s decision to heed our call to provide assistance.”
