**Shaheen Visits North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and the United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) & Meets with General Lori Robinson, the First Woman to Lead a Combatant Command **

(Washington, DC) – Today, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) visited the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and the United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), where she met with General Lori Robinson, who is the Commander of NORAD & USNORTHCOM. General Robinson is the first woman to lead a U.S. military combatant command in American history. She is also a graduate of the University of New Hampshire. During her visit, Senator Shaheen was briefed on unique missions of NORAD and USNORTHCOM.

Senator Jeanne Shaheen is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and is the only woman on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Senator Shaheen was the first woman elected Governor of New Hampshire and the first woman in American history to serve as both a Governor and United States Senator.
