PHOTO RELEASE: Shaheen Visits Port City Pretzels, Discusses Small Businesses and Entrepreneurship
(Portsmouth, NH) – Today, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) visited Port City Pretzels in Portsmouth. Shaheen joined Port City Pretzels founder Suzanne Foley for a tour of the facility to discuss the challenges of growing a small business and Suzanne’s success as an entrepreneur. As a current member of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship committee and a former small business owner, Shaheen understands the importance of putting small businesses first. Shaheen has also been an advocate for women entrepreneurs and has consistently fought to expand economic opportunities to help female business owners succeed.
“Suzanne’s success provides an excellent roadmap for other women entrepreneurs,” said Shaheen. “Over the past three years, Suzanne has grown Port City Pretzels significantly, and it’s exciting to see the results of this growth firsthand. I will continue to work in Washington to create and implement policies that make it easier for entrepreneurs like her to succeed. Everyone loves her pretzels, and I’m very excited to, once again, host her in the Senate next month at Experience New Hampshire.”
Each year, Senator Shaheen welcomes Granite State businesses, restaurants and vendors to Capitol Hill for her annual Experience New Hampshire reception, giving local businesses the opportunity to showcase their products and services for policymakers and government officials in Washington. This year’s Experience New Hampshire Reception will be held on Wednesday, June 6th in Washington. Port City Pretzels has traveled to Washington twice before for the event and this will be their third year participating.
