SATURDAY IN PLYMOUTH: SHAHEEN TO ATTEND MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR EXECUTIVE COUNCILOR RAY BURTON

U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) will attend the memorial service for former Executive Councilor Ray Burton at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14 at Plymouth State University. Shaheen will offer remarks honoring the legacy of Councilor Burton and his years of dedicated work on behalf of the North Country and its residents.
Later, Shaheen will participate in a ceremony honoring Charlie Company, 172nd Infantry at 5:00 p.m. in Milford at the National Guard Armory. The unit was awarded the Army’s Valorous Unit Award for its deployment in Afghanistan during which Charlie Company engaged enemy insurgents in more than 20 firefights, encountered more than 110 improvised explosive devises, conducted 5 air assaults and participated in multiple named operations. For their service Charlie Company Soldiers were awarded 14 Bronze Star Medals, 5 Purple Hearts, 5 Army Commendation Medals with Combat Distinguishing Valor devices, 92 Combat Infantryman Badges, 40 Combat Action Badges, and 4 Combat Medic Badges.
