SENATOR SHAHEEN VOTES TO REPEAL SMALL BUSINESS PAPERWORK BURDEN
(Washington, D.C.) - U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) tonight released the following statement after joining Senate colleagues in passing a repeal of the Form 1099 reporting requirement from last year's health care reform legislation.
"Our small businesses drive job growth in our communities, and many of them have voiced serious concern over the regulatory burden this requirement would place on them," Shaheen said. "Repealing this requirement will strengthen our economy, and will strengthen the many benefits for small businesses and families included in health care reform."
Senator Shaheen co-introduced legislation in the 111th Congress to repeal the provision, alongside Senators Max Baucus (D-MT), Mary L. Landrieu (D-LA), Mark Begich (D-AK), Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), and Scott Brown (R-MA).
