SHAHEEN: $392,000 IN TRANSPORTATION FUNDS COMING TO NORTH STRATFORD FOR RAILWAY INSTALLATION
(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen today announced that $392,000 in U.S. Department of Transportation funds, made available through the Federal Railroad Administration, have been granted for rail safety upgrades in North Stratford, New Hampshire. The funds will pay for new rail installation.
“Improvements to our freight rail system will create jobs and lay the groundwork for long-term economic growth in New Hampshire’s North Country,” said Senator Shaheen. “I’m glad to announce this funding that will help install additional rail in North Stratford, and I look forward to continuing to work with local and federal officials to ensure that this and other important infrastructure projects receive the support they need.”
The $392,000 grant will help fund the installation additional railway that will connect to the main line of the Saint Lawrence and Atlantic Railway (SLAR).
