Shaheen & U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Commander Van Ovost Visit Pease, Meet with 157th ARW Members & Guard Leadership
(Manchester, NH) – Today, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, joined General Jaqueline Van Ovost, Commander of the United States Air Force’s Air Mobility Command, in a visit to Pease Air National Guard Base. During the visit, Shaheen and Van Ovost received a command briefing from New Hampshire Air National Guard leadership on ongoing operations and priorities at the base. Following the briefing, Shaheen and Van Ovost met with members of the Pease-based 157th Air Refueling Wing.
“The men and women of the 157th Air Refueling Wing at Pease play a vital role in support of our nation’s national defense, and I’m glad General Van Ovost was able to travel to New Hampshire today to see and hear more about their work firsthand,” said Senator Shaheen. “I appreciated the opportunity to discuss critical priorities for Pease with General Van Ovost and NH Air National Guard leadership, such as the KC-46 program, the need to invest in repairing core infrastructure at the base and the importance of returning members from the 64th Air Refueling Squadron that have been temporarily relocated elsewhere in the Air Force back to Pease. I was also thrilled to meet with members from the 157th and thank them for their service to our nation. As a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I’ll keep working to strengthen our national defense and put Granite State priorities front and center.”
