SHAHEEN APPLAUDS TRADE ADJUSTMENT ASSISTANCE FOR ETHAN ALLEN EMPLOYEES

(Washington, D.C.) - U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen today released the following statement applauding the U.S. Department of Labor's approval of Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) to Ethan Allen Employees. This announcement comes following letters sent by Shaheen to Labor Secretary Hilda Solis in June and July urging the department to assist the workers. 

"Today's announcement that the Department of Labor will aid laid-off Ethan Allen employees is welcome news for the Colebrook and Beecher Falls communities, and I'm very pleased to hear these workers will receive this support. We must assist workers who lose their jobs due to foreign trade by helping them gain the skills they need in today's global economy.  I will continue to work with the Department of Labor so that workers get the aid they need when they need it."
