SHAHEEN, AYOTTE ANNOUNCE FUNDING FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE NATIONAL GUARD DEPLOYMENT CYCLE SUPPORT PROGRAM
Defense appropriations bill includes $15 million in funding for Yellow Ribbon program that supports DCSCCP
(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) announced that the Fiscal Year 2015 defense appropriations bill approved today by the Senate Appropriations Committee includes $15 million to support the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program, which funds the New Hampshire National Guard’s Deployment Cycle Support Care Coordination Program (DCSCCP).
As members of the Armed Services Committee, Shaheen and Ayotte have been strong advocates for DCSCCP, which provides resources and support to deploying service members and their families throughout the full deployment cycle.
“The New Hampshire National Guard’s Deployment Cycle Support Care Coordination Program provides critical support to our service members and their families who have sacrificed so much,” Shaheen and Ayotte said. “We are pleased to see bipartisan support for this essential program, and we will continue to work with the Guard to ensure the same level of exceptional support for New Hampshire’s military families.”
DCSCCP combines federal, state, and local resources to ensure deploying service members and their families receive coordinated support throughout the deployment cycle. In New Hampshire, DCSCCP has served 523 service members and their families in fiscal year 2013 alone, resulting in tangible and positive outcomes. For example, the program helps participants access mental health care and helps participants secure or retain housing.
