SHAHEEN, AYOTTE WELCOME CONFIRMATION OF MARK SCARANO TO THE NORTHERN BORDER REGIONAL COMMISSION

(WASHINGTON – DC) – U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) released the following statement after the Senate confirmed Mark Scarano of Ashland as Federal Co-chairperson of the Northern Border Regional Commission:

“Mark Scarano’s confirmation to the Northern Border Regional Commission is great news for New Hampshire’s North Country and the entire Northern Forest region,” said Shaheen and Ayotte. “The Northern Forest region faces economic challenges and stands to benefit from Mark’s dedication and expertise. His experience working in the region and collaborating with stakeholders to encourage economic growth makes him the perfect person for the job.”

Last year, Senators Shaheen and Ayotte wrote to President Obama recommending Mark Scarano for this position on the Northern Border Regional Commission. Scarano is the former chief executive officer of the Grafton County Economic Development Council.
