SHAHEEN CONGRATULATES NEW HAMPSHIRE BLUE RIBBON SCHOOLS

Canterbury, Lisbon and Bedford all recognized by U.S. Department of Education

(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) congratulated three New Hampshire schools today as they were recognized as 2012 National Blue Ribbon Schools by the United States Department of Education. Canterbury Elementary School, Lisbon Regional Middle School and Memorial Elementary School in Bedford were all honored for their academic achievements.

“I am proud to congratulate the students, teachers and administrators at these New Hampshire schools for their well-deserved recognition as Blue Ribbon schools,” said Senator Shaheen. “An excellent education is key not only to students’ success in life, but also to strengthening the American economy. The young people in New Hampshire are our next generation of engineers, inventors and creators and I commend everyone at these schools for their commitment to creating a brighter future.”

The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors K-12 public and private elementary, middle and high schools where students perform at very high levels or where significant improvements are being made in students’ levels of academic performance.
