Shaheen, Hassan & Kuster Announce $2.1 Million for Harbor Homes in Nashua
(Washington, DC) — U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) today announced $2,160,714 from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to Harbor Homes in Nashua. The funding will allow Harbor Homes to continue to provide low-income, homeless, and disabled New Hampshire community members with affordable housing, primary and behavioral health care, employment and job training, and supportive services
“Some of our most vulnerable Granite Staters depend on the housing and services of Harbor Homes, including those struggling with substance use disorder, low-income families and veterans. This funding will play an important role in helping to deliver the assistance they urgently need,” said Shaheen. “Harbor Homes’ services are critical to our comprehensive community efforts to combat the opioid epidemic, and this grant will bolster their work so they can continue to support New Hampshire families. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to advocate for resources to help our community partners on the front lines of the opioid epidemic.”
“Harbor Homes provides essential housing and integrated care to veterans, people with substance use disorder, and others – and this federal grant will help ensure that they can continue to serve many of those in need,” said Hassan. “Their innovative work through the Nashua Safe Stations program is making a real difference in our efforts to combat the opioid crisis, and I will keep fighting to ensure that they have the resources to continue these efforts and help save lives.”
“Harbor Homes has been a steadfast partner in addressing the opioid epidemic and serving Granite State veterans,” said Kuster. “This grant is critical to their ongoing efforts in New Hampshire and I look forward to continuing to fight for resources that support this important work.”
