SHAHEEN HELPS KICK OFF SAIL PORTSMOUTH 2012 FESTIVAL

U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) delivered remarks today at the Welcome Ceremony of the Sail Portsmouth 2012 festival hosted by the Piscataqua Maritime Commission. The weekend-long festival brings historic vessels to the New Hampshire seacoast in a celebration of maritime tradition and features two replicas of historic ships, the 1776 Providence and the 1812 Pride of Baltimore II. Shaheen’s remarks helped to celebrate the importance of the Granite State in America’s maritime history.
