Shaheen Honors NH Tourism Champion Dick Hamilton

(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) issued the following statement on the death of North Country tourism advocate, Dick Hamilton:

“There was no better champion for New Hampshire’s North Country tourism than Dick Hamilton. He was a fierce advocate for sharing the experiences offered by the White Mountains and was especially diligent to ensure Granite Staters, and all visitors to Franconia Notch, remembered the legacy of the Old Man of the Mountain. He was beloved by his community and we will miss him dearly,” said Shaheen. “My thoughts are with his family during this difficult time. I hope Granite Staters will honor his memory by upholding the same sentiment of preserving our outdoor spaces, and maybe even take a drive through Franconia Notch to appreciate his work and admire the beauty of the North Country that Dick worked so hard to promote.”
