SHAHEEN JOINS STRAFFORD COUNTY SHERIFF TO HONOR MILITARY SERVICE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT
(Dover, NH) – This morning U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) joined Strafford County Sheriff David Dubois and other local officials at a Military Service Awards Presentation to recognize the military service of members of the Strafford County Sheriff’s Department. The ceremony, led by David Dubois and members of the Strafford County Board of Commissioners and attended by veterans from the Riverside Rest Home and the Dover Center for Health and Rehabilitation, paid special recognition to the brave service of the individuals who served both in the Armed Forces and as law enforcement officers.
“The individuals recognized today embody the best of New Hampshire,” Senator Shaheen said. “As members of the armed services and law enforcement, they have shown remarkable bravery and commitment to serve their country and community. I was honored to join this ceremony to recognize the members of the Strafford County Sheriff’s Department and thank them for their service.”
"Having a senator who has worked so hard for our military and veterans join us in honoring staff receiving this award contributed significantly to the event," Sheriff Dubois said.
“It was our privilege to have our senior Senator Jeanne Shaheen join us at the county complex today to help us recognize many among us who have served our country valiantly through the many conflicts of our time,” said George Maglaras, Chairman, Strafford County Board of Commissioners.
The ceremony recognized more than twenty members of the Strafford County Sheriff’s Department who have served in the military and were nominated and approved by an awards advisory committee for the recognition.
