Shaheen Leads NH Delegation in Welcoming More Than $9 Million for NH Airports from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

** Shaheen and Hassan were Key Negotiators of the Infrastructure Package **

(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), along with U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) welcomed the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s announcement that New Hampshire airports will receive $9,194,982. Funding comes from the Airport Infrastructure Grants included in the recently enacted Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), of which Shaheen and Hassan were negotiators.

“New Hampshire’s airports serve as economic and transportation hubs for surrounding communities, which is why this funding is so important and will be put to good use. I’m excited to see these investments from the bipartisan infrastructure package going toward improvements to enhance our airports’ capabilities and capacity, “ said Senator Shaheen. “I’ll continue working in the Senate to see that Granite State infrastructure projects are properly funded, which create jobs, jumpstart our economy and ensure families can get from A to B safely and efficiently.”

“Airports play a crucial role in New Hampshire’s economy, getting Granite Staters where they need to go and fueling our tourism economy,” said Senator Hassan. “Additional support will ensure that our airports can continue to grow and serve families and small businesses all across the state. That’s why when we developed the bipartisan infrastructure law, we invested in airports — and I’m thrilled that this funding is now en route to New Hampshire.”

“Stronger transportation infrastructure in New Hampshire means more tourists coming in, more customers for our businesses, and a quicker recovery for our economy – a critical piece of that infrastructure includes our airports,” said Rep. Kuster. “I’m thrilled the Bipartisan Infrastructure Package I helped get signed into law earlier this year will deliver more than $9 million in support for our Granite State airports to bolster services, expand capacity, and ensure everyone flying into our state has a safe and efficient trip. This transformative package is helping us build a brighter future for New Hampshire, and I look forward to the positive impacts that are to come.”

“I’m pleased New Hampshire’s airports are swiftly receiving these funds following the passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act,” said Rep. Pappas. “This funding represents significant support for our airports that serve as critical supply chain hubs, gateways for travelers, and engines for our business sector. As a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, I’ll continue advocating for smart investments in New Hampshire’s airports that will create good-paying jobs and boost our economy.”
