Shaheen on Public Intel Report on Russian Hacking: “It’s Now Time For President-elect Trump to Face the Facts and Prepare to Work with Congress on an Aggressive Response”
(Washington, DC) – Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), a member of the Senate Armed Services and Foreign Relations committees and the first to call for Congressional hearings on Russian hacking of our elections, issued the following statement:
“The evidence in this report is overwhelming,” said Senator Shaheen. “This report clearly shows Putin’s direct role, as well as the extent and purpose of his campaign to undermine our elections. I’m relieved that this information is finally available to the American public so that they can review this information for themselves. It’s now time for President-elect Trump to face the facts and prepare to work with Congress on an aggressive response. Russia launched a brazen attack on the foundation of our democracy and it cannot go unanswered.”
