Shaheen Statement on 15th Anniversary of September 11th Terrorist Attacks
(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following statement marking the 15th anniversary of September 11, 2001:
“Fifteen years ago, Americans awoke on a Tuesday to go about their daily lives; by 9 a.m., we watched the world change forever. A senseless act of terrorism took the lives of nearly 3,000 men, women and children, including 10 Granite Staters. We lost many heroic first responders who ran toward danger to help others to safety, and the brave men and women who rushed the cockpit of Flight 93 to save countless lives ahead. These were Americans from all walks of life and we will never forget them.
After these horrific attacks, millions of Americans joined together to support and rebuild, demonstrating unwavering commitment to our country and our freedom. That spirit should be reflected today as we remember those who lost their lives and pray for continued strength for their families.”
