Shaheen Statement on 43rd Anniversary of Roe v. Wade Decision

(Washington, DC)—U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following statement on the 43rd anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision:

“Today we’re reminded that the Roe v. Wade decision was a giant step forward for women,” said Shaheen. “While it’s important to appreciate how far we’ve come, women’s reproductive rights remain under relentless assault, and we must redouble our efforts to prevent any attempts to turn back the clock. Women, not their employers or the government, should be in charge of their own healthcare choices.”
