Shaheen Statement on Air Strike Targeting “Jihadi John”
(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) issued the following statement today on the reports that a drone strike targeted Mohammed Emwazi, also known as “Jihadi John”:
“The United States is committed to finding and bringing to justice all those who were complicit in the murder of James Foley, Steven Sotloff and the other hostages brutally executed by ISIS," said Shaheen. "The murder of James, a New Hampshire native, and Steven, who had strong ties to our state, brought home the threat of ISIS. Today we have reason to believe that their executioner finally got the justice he deserved. ‘Jihadi John’ has been the voice and the face of ISIS’s depraved ideology, and his death would send the strong message that these barbaric acts will not go unanswered.”
