Shaheen Statement on Confirmation of Linda McMahon as Small Business Administrator

(Washington, DC) — U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), lead Democrat on the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee (SBC), released the following statement on the confirmation of Linda McMahon, President Trump’s nominee to serve as Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA). Mrs. McMahon was confirmed in the Senate by a vote of 81-19.

“Small businesses are the engine of the economy in New Hampshire and across the United States, and the Small Business Administration plays an integral role in supporting their growth,” said Senator Shaheen. “As a former small business owner myself and through my role as Ranking Member of the SBC, I know there are real challenges that small business owners face when trying to make their entrepreneurial vision a sustainable reality, especially in rural states like New Hampshire. During the confirmation hearing, I was pleased to hear that Mrs. McMahon understands these challenges and that she will serve as a passionate advocate for small businesses. Entrepreneurs and small business owners need someone who will be their voice in Washington and I am glad that Mrs. McMahon believes the SBA should continue as a cabinet-level, standalone agency.
