SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON FULL YEAR DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FUNDING BILL
(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following statement after the House of Representatives approved the Senate’s bipartisan bill fully funding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through the remainder of the fiscal year, without extraneous policy riders attached:
“The weeks-long impasse on fully funding the Department of Homeland Security represented the very type of partisanship that people in New Hampshire and across the country have had enough of, and I am relieved that the House finally acted responsibly on behalf of our country’s safety and security. With a complete DHS funding bill headed to the President for his signature, we are rightfully investing in critical resources that strengthen and protect our national security.”
The complete DHS bill, which Senator Shaheen introduced, will now head to the President for his signature.
