SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON NORTHERN PASS ANNOUNCEMENT

(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following responding to the announcement of a new Northern Pass proposal this morning:

“We must protect New Hampshire’s natural treasures for our citizens, economy and quality of life. I’m glad that Northern Pass officials are not proposing to violate the Connecticut Lakes Headwaters easement with their proposed route. Moving forward, I’ll continue to closely monitor this project as the application undergoes its review. I hope that throughout the review, the process is transparent and gives all parties opportunities to express concerns and provide feedback about the project.”
