SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON PRESIDENT OBAMA’S DISASTER DECLARATION
(Washington D.C.)-U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen today released the following statement in reaction to President Obama granting a disaster declaration for the March 2010 storms that caused flooding and wind damage in the southern portion of New Hampshire. In March, Shaheen wrote a letter urging President Obama to make this designation so that New Hampshire could receive additional federal support.
"The severe storms that hit southern part of the state earlier this year left a wake of costly damage for families and businesses, and I'm glad that President Obama has recognized New Hampshire's need for assistance," said Shaheen. "I'm hopeful that this funding will be distributed quickly so that the members of the affected communities can get the help they need to repair and rebuild."
