SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON ROBERT MCDONALD CONFIRMATION

Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following statement after the Senate cleared Robert McDonald's nomination to head the Department of Veterans Affairs:

“There are serious problems at the VA that must be addressed and I believe Mr. McDonald’s background and management skills will provide the agency with much needed new leadership. I look forward to working with him to implement reforms across the VA, particularly those unveiled in the bipartisan VA reform legislation that will not only boost accountability at the VA but also expand access to care for New Hampshire veterans.”
