SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON SBA ADMINISTRATOR NOMINEE

(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), a member of the U.S. Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, released the following statement after President Obama nominated Maria Contreras-Sweet to be the new Administrator of the Small Business Administration:

“The Small Business Administration provides critical resources for New Hampshire’s economy and our small businesses which underscores the need for strong leadership of the agency.  As last month’s jobs report showed, we have a lot of work to do to create jobs and boost our economy and to do that we have to prioritize small business growth. I look forward to carefully considering Ms. Contreras-Sweet’s nomination and learning more about her qualifications, experience, and plans to bolster our small businesses.”
