SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON SHORT TERM FUNDING FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY

U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following statement after Congress passed a short term measure funding the Department of Homeland Security:

"This short term measure is better than the alternative but the fact remains that we need to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security for the rest of the year. The House should follow the Senate's lead by taking up the bipartisan legislation we passed earlier today instead of further jeopardizing agency resources that keep our country safe. We cannot afford the consequences of playing politics with our homeland security."
