SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON SIGNING OF SMALL BUSINESS JOBS BILL

(Washington, D.C.) - U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen today applauded President Obama for signing the Small Business Jobs Act into law.  The bill will dramatically increase lending opportunities to small businesses, provide access to tax credits that spur investment, and enhance the ability of small companies to export their products overseas, which will help New Hampshire small businesses grow and create jobs.  Shaheen, a member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, helped craft the bipartisan legislation.

"While we have seen some signs that our economy is beginning to recover in New Hampshire, we need to create more jobs to fully emerge from this recession.  Those jobs will come from the small businesses that are the cornerstone of our state's economy," said Shaheen.  "The lending opportunities, tax credits, and export assistance in this legislation will give New Hampshire small businesses the support they need to grow and create jobs."
