SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON SUPREME COURT HEARING CASES ON SAME-SEX MARRIAGE

(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following statement today in response to the Supreme Court’s announcement that it will hear two constitutional challenges on the legality of same-sex marriage at the state and federal level.

“I am glad to hear that the Supreme Court will consider these cases and am hopeful that they will strike down these discriminatory laws, paving the way for marriage equality.” said Senator Shaheen.  “Equality and freedom are at the core of who we are as Americans, and that means freedom for all of us, not just some of us.”
