SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON SYRIA

(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following statement on the situation in Syria:

"I continue to believe that the Assad regime must be held accountable by the international community for the use of chemical weapons.  Authorizing the use of military force, however, is not a decision I take lightly. In the coming days I will consider the upcoming vote carefully before doing what I believe is best for our national security interests."
