SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON THE PASSAGE OF IMPROVEMENTS TO THE HEALTH CARE REFORM BILL

(Washington, D.C.)-U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen today released the following statement upon the passage of improvements to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act:

"Earlier this week, we passed a health care reform bill that will provide access to affordable health insurance for 32 million Americans and tens of thousands of people in New Hampshire who are currently without it.  Today, we made that good bill even better by fully closing the donut hole for seniors, helping middle class families afford health coverage, and providing all states with additional assistance for their Medicaid programs.  I am proud to have been part of passing this historic reform that will help so many people across our state."
