SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF GEORGE WILSON

(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) today released the following statement on the passing of former Concord Monitor Publisher George Wilson:

“George Wilson was a true newsman who worked his way up in the industry, from ads salesman to reporter and eventually to publisher of the Concord Monitor and CEO of its parent company. He recognized the importance of good journalism and the value of supporting and fostering strong, vibrant local newspapers. I will always admire his dedication to covering state government, his journalistic standards, and his commitment to running an independent newsroom.

“George Wilson will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.”
