Shaheen Statement on the Passing of Janet Reno

(Manchester, NH) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following statement on the passing of former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno:

“Janet Reno was an exemplary public servant dedicated to the highest principles of the American justice system,” said Senator Shaheen. "Janet was part of a generation of women who achieved ‘firsts’ and her appointment as the first woman Attorney General of the United States underscored her integrity, hard work, compassion and dedication to justice. Janet will be remembered not only for her service to our country but for her lifelong work to protect children and see fair justice for all. I join her family and the entire country in mourning her loss.”
