SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF SHERIFF MICHAEL DOWNING

U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following statement on the passing of Rockingham County Sheriff Michael Downing:

“Billy and I were saddened to hear of the passing of Sheriff Michael Downing. Public service runs deep in the Downing family and Sheriff Downing proudly carried on that legacy through his honorable service as a member of the armed forces, a state trooper, Salem police officer, state representative, state senator and Rockingham County Sheriff. His dedication to our country and the state of New Hampshire will continue to be an inspiration. During my time as a state senator and governor, it was a joy and an honor to work with him in the legislature. Today, my thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”
