Shaheen Statement on the President's Announcement that he Will Nominate Christopher Wray to be the Next FBI Director

(Washington, DC) — U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), the lead Democrat on the Commerce, Justice, Science Appropriations Subcommittee that oversees the Department of Justice, released the following statement on President Trump’s announcement that he will nominate Christopher Wray to be the next FBI Director:

“Christopher Wray is a respected attorney whose public service as a former assistant attorney general makes him qualified for the position of FBI Director. I’ll continue to thoroughly examine his record and I look forward to meeting with Mr. Wray to discuss his vision for the nation’s leading law enforcement agency.
