Shaheen Statement on the Resignation of New Hampshire’s U.S. Attorney Emily Rice

(Washington, DC) — U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) issued the following statement on the resignation of New Hampshire’s United States Attorney Emily Rice:

“I thank Emily Rice for her distinguished service as New Hampshire’s U.S. Attorney. When I recommended Emily to President Obama for the position, I noted her background as a legal professor at the University of New Hampshire Law School, her work as a trial-lawyer, her extensive career in the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, and her stellar professional reputation. During her tenure, Emily worked in close collaboration with state and local officials, an approach that served the state well, particularly in addressing our mounting opioid crisis. I extend my deepest gratitude to Emily for her dedication and hard work on behalf of the Granite State.”
