SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON VETERANS DAY

(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) today released the following statement in commemoration of Veterans Day.

“Whenever we reflect on the role veterans have played in our nation’s history, we are immediately drawn to that most basic and sacred tradition of military service, the willingness to stand in harm’s way to protect others.  Time and again, brave American men and women have accepted this responsibility without question or hesitation.  Regardless of generation, race, or creed, our veterans have fought and died to protect each other, our nation, and our way of life.

“To honor their selflessness and service to our country, we gather today to say thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.”
