SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON VICE PRESIDENT BIDEN’S WEDNESDAY TRIP TO PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD

U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following statement in advance of Vice President Joe Biden’s upcoming Wednesday visit to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard:

"Our shipyard plays a critical role in our national security interests as well as in our regional economy. And as I will show the Vice President tomorrow, it's also home to some of the most talented and dedicated workers in the country whom I've been proud to support throughout my career. It's for these reasons that I've used my position as chair of the Senate Armed Services Readiness Subcommittee to block the administration's base closure recommendations these past two years. And it's why I'll continue doing everything in my power to protect our shipyard and its workers.”
