SHAHEEN TO SERVE ON ARMED SERVICES COMMITTEE

Continues to serve on Committees on Foreign Relations, Energy, and Small Business

(Washington, D.C.) - U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) announced today her committee assignments for the 112th Congress.

She will now serve on the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services.

In addition, she will continue to serve on the following committees:

Chairwoman for the Subcommittee on European Affairs for the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations

U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources

U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship

"I look forward to my new role on the Armed Services Committee.  I have always been a strong advocate for our country's soldiers and this new position gives me more opportunities to work on issues that matter to New Hampshire soldiers, their families, and the state businesses that work closely with the Department of Defense," Shaheen said. "I am glad I will continue to serve on committees that focus on energy and small businesses, both top priorities of mine in the coming year. I am also pleased to continue as Chairwoman of the Subcommittee on European Affairs."
