SUNDAY IN MANCHESTER: SHAHEEN TO ATTEND 4TH ANNUAL GREEK INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
Shaheen will also take part in the Manchester St. Patrick’s Day Parade Monday in Rochester, Shaheen will tour Safran Aerospace Composites to celebrate grand opening, participate in New Hampshire Food Bank’s ‘Nothing Campaign’
U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) will attend the 4th Annual Greek Independence Day Celebration in Manchester at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, March 30, an annual event celebrating Greek heritage. Later on Sunday, Shaheen will also march in the Manchester St. Patrick’s Day Parade at 12:00 p.m. where she will meet with parade participants and attendees.
On Monday, March 31, Shaheen will visit Safran Aerospace Composites to celebrate the grand opening of their new manufacturing facility in Rochester at 11:30 a.m. Safran is a manufacturer of aircraft propulsion systems, rocket engines, and other aircraft equipment. Safran is the world’s oldest aircraft engineer manufacturer and hopes to employ more than 400 people over the next several years in their new facility. Shaheen supported the expansion of the Trade Adjustment Assistance Act, as well as the State of New Hampshire’s successful application for funding from the program, which was critical in bringing Safran to Rochester.
Earlier, Shaheen will visit Hannaford Supermarket in Rochester at 10:45 a.m. to meet with New Hampshire Food Bank officials and participate in the Food Bank’s “Nothing Campaign”. Shaheen will highlight the importance of the “Nothing Campaign” and the work of the New Hampshire Food Bank to fight hunger on behalf of the more than 140,000 people in New Hampshire who are food insecure.
