TOMORROW IN CONCORD: SHAHEEN TO DISCUSS WORK ON BEHALF OF VETERANS WITH ADMIRAL MULLEN

Later in Keene, Shaheen will host senior consumer protection forum

U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) will participate in a luncheon with former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen at the University of New Hampshire Law, Rudman Center in Concord at 12:45 p.m. for the announcement of the Robert J. Dole fellowship program and to discuss Shaheen’s work on behalf of veterans. Mullen will announce the Robert J. Dole fellowship program, which is a $1 million endowed fellowship created to honor the legacies of Senators Robert “Bob” Dole and Warren Rudman by providing veterans with the opportunity to attend law school and use their legal education to provide legal assistance to veterans. Shaheen will highlight her work on behalf of veterans in New Hampshire, including her effort to expand law school clinical programs that provide benefits claims assistance and other services to veterans.

Later on Wednesday, Shaheen will host an information session with New Hampshire seniors to promote awareness among senior citizens about financial fraud targeted at seniors and scam avoidance in Keene at 3:00 p.m. Shaheen will highlight her legislation to protect seniors from some of the most common health care fraud schemes. Shaheen will be joined by representatives of the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office, U.S. Postal Inspection Service and U.S. Secret Service who will present best practices on how to recognize and avoid financial scams and frauds.
